Why did I join Welsh Water…

After graduating with a BSc degree in Information Systems, I joined Welsh Water. It provided me with an opportunity to apply my qualification in a relevant environment. Welsh Water’s Graduate Development Programme has allowed me to contribute and explore the business through a number of structured projects and acquire invaluable experience.

My main area of business is…

I have been fortunate to experience working in a number of departments with a diversity of skilled teams. Projects have included playing an active role in a major ICT transformation project and driving operational efficiency through a benchmarking exercise. More recently, I have been working on customer ‘affordability’ strategies within the billing and collections department.

My future with Welsh Water…

My career aspiration is to gain the necessary accreditations to become an IT project manager. This role combines technical, professional and managerial skills in demanding environments. They can only be obtained over a number of years of dealing with real challenges.

The best part of my job is…

…being part of a business that is undertaking a large transformation and the various experiences that this provides. I have also enjoyed meeting and working with many interesting and talented people. I have been able to build upon my existing skills, knowledge and experience and I enjoy being in an environment that offers many opportunities.
